Serving the traveling community and the hospitality industry

THE PURPOSE

THIS SPACE IS CREATED FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY CONSCIOUS OF THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT AND PRODUCT USE. IN RECENT YEARS, SUSTAINABILITY HAS BEEN A CONSTANT TOPIC, ESPECIALLY AMONG THE MILLENNIALS AND YOUNGER AGE RANGE AS OUR PLANET IS DEPLETING BEFORE US. LEADING COMPANIES HOLD THE MAJORITY OF THE POWER IN THIS AS THEIR WASTE IS INSURMOUNTABLE COMPARED TO THE WASTE A SINGLE-FAMILY HOME CREATES.

BY CHANGING THE WAY THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY ACTS TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT AND THEIR METHODS TO REBUILD THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT DESIGNERS CAN ADDRESS THE HARM CREATED BY THE INDUSTRY. CONSCIOUS DESIGN IS NOT ONLY SIMPLE BUT CAN ALSO BE SEAMLESS. WHEN TRAVELING, HAVING A MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE SUBSEQUENT TO MAKING SMART DECISIONS REGARDING YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT.

THE CONCEPT

BEHIND TRACE IS TO RECONSTRUCT A PREVIOUSLY BUILT STRUCTURE INTO A FULLY SUSTAINABLE HOTEL TO PROVE THAT LOW-WASTE METHODS ARE POSSIBLE AND EASILY AVAILABLE FOR TRAVELERS AND THE INDUSTRY ITSELF, AND TO DEMONSTRATE THE WAYS WE CAN BUILD UPON THE STEPPING STONES PREVIOUSLY PUT INTO PLACE FOR SUSTAINABLE EFFORTS THROUGH REUSE OF MATERIALS, ETHICAL AND HEALTHY FOOD OPTIONS, AND CARBON FOOTPRINT REDUCTION.

THE USER

MILLENNIALS AGE RANGE 25-35 WHO ARE ALREADY FOCUSED ON SUSTAINABILITY AND HAVE THE MEANS TO TRAVEL
